WhatsApp cost calculator: what your messages will cost

Pick the country of your customers' WhatsApp numbers and how many messages you send. The estimate uses Meta's own rate cards and volume tiers, and shows what changes when Meta's next rate card takes effect.

How the estimate works

  • Meta charges per delivered template message. The rate depends on the message category and on the country calling code of the number you send to.
  • Marketing has one rate per country. Utility and authentication get lower rates past monthly volume tiers, and each tier's rate applies only to the messages inside it.
  • Non-template replies inside the 24-hour customer service window, from a person or a third-party AI, are service messages. They are free until 30 September 2026.
  • From 1 October 2026 each business phone number gets 1,000 free service messages a month.
  • Replies powered by Meta Business Agent are not service messages. Meta has charged them per token since 1 August 2026.
  • Utility templates sent inside an open customer service window are free until 30 September 2026 and charged from 1 October 2026, so the calculator takes them as a separate number.

What it leaves out

  • Authentication-international rates, which Meta charges only to eligible businesses messaging users in another country.
  • Local-currency billing. Meta publishes its rate cards in 16 currencies, and this uses the USD card.
  • Messages in a free entry point window, which Meta does not charge for, except Meta Business Agent messages (see the FAQ below).

Questions about the calculator

Yes. They are Meta's published USD list rates, plus its volume-tier rates for utility and authentication, read straight from its rate-card files. Your invoice can differ if you are billed in another currency.
It opens when someone on WhatsApp's Android or iOS app messages you from a Click to WhatsApp ad or Facebook Page button. Reply within 24 hours, and Meta charges nothing for 72 hours except Meta Business Agent messages.
Meta prices some countries on their own and groups others, such as Rest of Asia Pacific. The calculator shows which market your country is billed under.
No. Meta charges when a message is delivered, not when it is sent.
Meta does not currently deliver marketing templates to US phone numbers, and undelivered messages are not charged.
