WhatsApp pricing
WhatsApp Business API pricing by country
What Meta charges for each delivered WhatsApp message, by country and message category, from its own published rate cards.
How Meta prices WhatsApp
- Meta charges per delivered message, not per conversation.
- The rate depends on the template category (marketing, utility or authentication) and on the country calling code of the number you message.
- Utility and authentication get lower rates past volume tiers that differ by market. Marketing has no tiers.
- From 1 October 2026, service messages are charged after 1,000 free a month per business phone number.
- From 1 October 2026, utility templates sent inside an open customer service window are charged too.

Rates are Meta's published USD list rates per delivered message, from the rate cards on Meta's pricing page, checked 18 September 2026.
Meta prices 47 markets on this card, some of them regional groups. The WhatsApp cost calculator covers every one.
What the categories mean
- Marketing covers everything from building awareness to driving sales and retargeting customers, including offers, recommendations, subscription renewals and abandoned-cart messages.
- Utility follows up on something the customer did or asked for, such as their order, account, services or transactions, or is essential or critical to them, for example for their safety, and must not be promotional.
- Authentication verifies who someone is, usually with a one-time password.
- Service is any non-template message you send inside an open 24-hour customer service window, unless Meta Business Agent powers it.
