WhatsApp template checker: catch rejections before Meta does
Paste a draft template and check it against Meta's published rules for names, variables, headers, footers and buttons. The checks run in your browser, and nothing you type into the checker is sent anywhere.

Seven retention templates, already checked
Order confirmation, shipping, delivery check-in, replenishment, win-back, back in stock and abandoned cart. Each one passes every check above, and loads into the checker in one click.
What the checker tests
Every check comes from Meta's own WhatsApp documentation, and each result links to the page it comes from.
- Name: lowercase letters, numbers and underscores, up to 512 characters.
- Variables: matching curly braces, numbered in order from {{1}} or named in lowercase, no #, $ or %, and an example value for each one.
- Body: required, up to 1,024 characters, and never starting or ending with a variable.
- Header and footer: a text header of up to 60 characters with one variable at most, and a footer of up to 60 characters.
- Buttons: up to 10, with labels of up to 25 characters, and quick replies grouped together.
- Button types: two website buttons at most, with any variable at the end of the URL, one phone button and one copy-code button.
What no checker can decide
Meta reviews the content and decides the category. If you submit a utility template that Meta judges to be marketing, it is approved as marketing and charged at the marketing rate.
Utility messages should not promote, recommend, upsell or cross-sell, include offers or try to secure renewals.
Carousel, limited-time-offer, catalog and authentication templates follow rules of their own and are not covered here.
